contribution to project

My contribution to our project :Within our project ,we all decided to break up the project individually. We set ourselves the goal of trying to spend as little on the project as possible. With this task in mind ,we wanted to create a campaign which had a strong call to action  but was also informative and delivered a message which  could be spread across all social media platforms. We took inspiration from campaigns such as #no makeup selfies,ALS ice bucket challenge,#teamtrees and  the game face campaigns all used social media platforms to start their campaigns. All these campaigns had a similar thing in common in the fact that they all encourage some form of participation as well as a donation. For example, with the ice bucket challenge you not only had to make a video in which you poured water over yourself you also nominated people to do the challenge. This caused a natural flow of content , this was also measurable through the #alsicebucketchallenge. With the nominations we also got 3 more people to participate who in turn got another 3 people. So, we thought it was essential to have a good slogan for the campaign ,which we came up with “dunk the junk”. I specifically took the call to actions from these campaigns mentioned above. Within our campaign which is based around plastic reduction , we ask people to video themselves throwing a plastic bottle into their recycling bin and to tag others to do the same as well as tagging our Instagram page which would allow us to measure the impressions we received . We found that from our survey which I was in charge of that Instagram was the strongest platform to do this on, we would start off by tagging our friends in an attempt to start the cycle, if we had a budget getting influencers involved would also help and encourage more participation. We felt this would be the most cost-effective way to start a campaign as one of our original goals was to create a campaign which would be sustainable with no budget.

In conclusion my specific contribution to the campaign was based around the goals of the campaign as well as studying other campaigns which we could base our own project around.

Successful advertising and google garage

Google garage was a great exercise which gave a good insight into digital marketing and the different forms it can take. Focusing on SEM and SEO,which for me i knew probably the least about. Search engine marketing or pay per click , can be very beneficial and increase targeted leads it can also take quite a large budget to be effective for a long term and may not leads to people completing purchases and its very important to have researched your keywords to make this tool as effective as possible. In doing this online course and researching on goggle about these topic, i have been targeted by certain advertisements on youtube by companies such as SEMrush. Search engine optimization(SEO), this is all about your ranking within the webpage searches , done correctly this could enable small businesses to rank higher then larger organisation, again this comes down to key terms search, coupling this with long tail search term can help in conversion rates . Long tail search terms can allow for specific terms to be added to your keywords and rank you higher on search results. In conclusion having the knowledge about different forms of targeting ,allowed me to better understand the many different ways you can have a successful advertising campaign and how important defining your key words is to these campaigns.

A successful advertising campaign : what i would consider a successful campaign is a campaign that will not only gather appeal , but will be replicated and may have some sort of hook or encouragement to get involved. For the campaign i would consider a success was the anheiser busch commerical in (1999),called Wasssup. The original first spot of Stone’s Wassup commerical for Budweiser premiered during Monday Night Football, December, 1999. Why i consider this to be such a successful ad campaign as , to this day it is still parodied and brought back into the spot light to this day, It is also one of the very first campaigns that i remember.

. Also, I consider this ad so successful as it was before social media really took off and I can only imagine how more successful it would’ve been with the added element of social media and the ability for it to be shared instantly instead of having to wait to see it on television. Pictured below are some examples of the different versions of this ad.

Introduce Yourself (Example Post)

This is an example post, originally published as part of Blogging University. Enroll in one of our ten programs, and start your blog right.

You’re going to publish a post today. Don’t worry about how your blog looks. Don’t worry if you haven’t given it a name yet, or you’re feeling overwhelmed. Just click the “New Post” button, and tell us why you’re here.

Why do this?

  • Because it gives new readers context. What are you about? Why should they read your blog?
  • Because it will help you focus you own ideas about your blog and what you’d like to do with it.

The post can be short or long, a personal intro to your life or a bloggy mission statement, a manifesto for the future or a simple outline of your the types of things you hope to publish.

To help you get started, here are a few questions:

  • Why are you blogging publicly, rather than keeping a personal journal?
  • What topics do you think you’ll write about?
  • Who would you love to connect with via your blog?
  • If you blog successfully throughout the next year, what would you hope to have accomplished?

You’re not locked into any of this; one of the wonderful things about blogs is how they constantly evolve as we learn, grow, and interact with one another — but it’s good to know where and why you started, and articulating your goals may just give you a few other post ideas.

Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.

When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.
